Last week, Luke Graham MP paid a visit to Dunbarney Primary School in Bridge of Earn to meet with staff and pupils.
Mrs Paterson and Miss Dow provided the MP with a tour of the school, introducing him to all classes and speaking with the pupils in all year groups.
Currently, the primary 7 class are rehearsing their end of year show with a musical. They were keen to show Mr Graham just how those rehearsals were going with a rendition of ‘A Million Dreams’ from The Greatest Showman. The pupils are singing the full song whilst also using Makaton which is a language programme using signs and symbols to help people to communicate.
Following the visit, Mr Graham said:
“It was a real pleasure to be able to speak to the staff in a relaxed environment during their break and away from the classroom. Their enthusiasm for what they do and the children they teach is exemplary.
Meeting all the kids in their classes and seeing them during their lessons was a great experience. Each and every one of them were polite and so very well behaved which is a credit to the teachers, staff and their parents.
I especially enjoyed seeing the P7s perform a song from their end of year show – with Makaton. It was very good, and I hope they have a great time at their show - the parents are in for a treat!”
