Local MP, Luke Graham, has hosted meetings with the Post Office and Eros, who ran the Little Greens store in which the Post Office had previously been hosted, in order to try to find a solution to the closure of the existing Post Office.
Mr Graham and his office have been in regular contact with representatives of both the Post Office and Eros in the last few days, hosting a conference call with both outlets on Tuesday morning.
Mr Graham has also offered all available support to the Post Office as they look to secure a replacement postmaster and location – if necessary - for the Alloa Post Office.
Commenting Luke Graham MP said:
“My office has been in touch with both Eros and the Post Office since the closure was announced. This morning I had productive talks with both parties in order to try to understand the issues which have led to this situation, and to try to find solutions that will work best for the people of Alloa.
While I must respect all confidential information shared in our discussions, I remain hopeful that such a solution can be found for both the short and long term.
I will continue to be in regular contact with both until a solution has been found and completed.”
