The Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) in Scotland has published our small business confidence index for the first quarter of 2018. The average Scottish business is now more confident than it was at the end of last year, but is still less optimistic than the average UK firm.
Despite the weather causing the official Alloa Half Marathon to be cancelled, Luke Graham MP, still ran the full 13.2 mile course. Around a dozen people turned up at the start line with the sun out and conditions better than forecast, Mr Graham set out on the run.
Craigbank Primary School welcomed Luke Graham, MP for Ochil and South Perthshire, to meet Ms Reynolds’ Primary 5 class. During the visit the students asked their MP questions on the environment, oil spills, electric cars, and air pollution.
Today at the Spring Statement Ian Blackford MP claimed, “this Government is going ahead with a devastating cut to Scotland’s budget”. In fact, the block grant provided to the Scottish Government by the UK Government will increase by £479 million in 2018/19 – a real terms increase.
